Monica Bellucci was born on September 30, 1968 in Città di Castello, Italy.
While attending the University of Perugia, Monica modeled on the side
to earn money for school, and this led to her modeling career. In 1988
she moved to Milan and she got a good start in her model career. A year
later she was entirely successful in Paris and in New York. Monica is
one of the few Italian models to have reached the top of her profession,
but she decided to study acting, hoping to find parts in films.
In 1990 Monica began to work on television in the film "Vita con
i figli" and in 1992 on cinema, as Dracula's bride, in "Bram
Stoker's Dracula". Monica was nominated for the César as best
promise actress in the movie "L'appartement" In 1996. Other
credits include "Malèna" (2000), "Under Suspicion
" (2000) and "The Matrix Revolutions" (2003).
Monica Bellucci was elected the most beautiful woman in the world by
French viewers in the tv show "La plus belle femme du monde"
in 2004.
